{M} Newborn
Have I mentioned how much I love babies? The smell of them, their sweet soft skin, baby wrinkles and their tiny (or in this babes case big) feet! :) Whenever I have a newborn session I can't wait to go home and take a huge whiff of my own kids, I know I am a crazy mom with silly habits, but I just can't help it! It always reminds me of last season Nurse Jackie, do you watch it? If you don't hurry and get Showtime so you can. FABULOUS show, of course I was once in healthcare, pursuing a degree in nursing so perhaps that's why I love it. Anyways I'm getting off topic, Nurse Jackie- a guy is freaking out in the elevator because he has just become a first time dad. Jackie asks to borrow the newborn that this couple is taking home and she tells the freaking out dad to smell him. And he says omg, that's amazing, do all babies smell like that? And Jackie response is, yours smells even better. IT couldn't be more true. And that is why I rush home after newborn sessions to smell my own kids :)
Now on to why your here, the little man and his big brother and parents :)
{H} Newborn
This is the second darling little girl that I have had the pleasure of photographing within this extended family. This little girls cousin to be exact, back in December. They have wonderful grandparents who gifted both families newborn sessions. Sessions really are fabulous gifts to new parents who "might have everything". This little girl was so sweet! A wonderful client only days old :) I sure do love my little baby clients.
{H} Family
First off, the momma of this family is an old high school friend, who drove 2.5 hours for her session. That warmed my heart so much. She is one of those women who when they age, they get even more beautiful then they used to be (like Courtney Cox). Yes, I'm jealous. Let me not lie and say Sarah and her family were DREAM clients. Her children are so well behaved and their family had fun like no one was watching, which is exactly what I love, and loved about this session. It was so go with the flow, and I LOVED the little town we went to!
But at the same time Sarah and I had a lot of time to gab and catch up. Ah... if she only lived closer! Or I to her. That would make my heart even happier! But alas! Our husbands work has landed us just close enough! :)
If I had a studio I would have images from their session all over my walls I am just that much in love with them. I could no sooner choose a favorite.
I can not WAIT to see them again, and hopefully this beautiful family will be on the other side of lens again too!
Birthday Giveaway Session!
I met this couple almost 4 years ago. I guess you could call them "family"- we bought one of their yorkie puppies! So I was pretty excited when they won the session! Their daughter reminds me so much of my own, and our girls are right around the same age.
If fact, if both our families were stationed here while our kids were school age, our girls and our boys would be in the same classes (grade wise) pretty neat if you think about it. :)
So this session was a blast! They are such a beautiful family and she is gorgeous pregnant. They were so beautifully perfect that I wasn't editing out pimples or scars, but bug bites. YES! bug bites. This was the session where I got 70 bug bites. Thank heavens it was me and not them, that would have been a lot of post processing hours lol.

Deployment Delivery...delivered.
After starting my business something I wanted to do to give back to my military community and something I felt close to my heart was what I call a Deployment Delivery. That is when a family is affected by a deployment and will miss the delivery of their child. I feel close to this because my husband, Frank, missed the birth of our first child. He left 2 weeks prior to her birth, and while I had the two very best people in the world with me (Krstyal and Tyler) documenting and providing support in their own unique ways, I wish I would have gotten Shaelyn's birth on film. So I have decided once a year to give a gift of photography, to a family separated by deployment during a birth. I was unable to give a birth session to this family, but did my best and gave a hospital session.
Walking into the room and smelling the smells brought me back 7 months ago when I had Emmitt. I am a person that links memories to smells and songs... so it was so powerful to me. Brought me back to those emotions of first having a baby, because those smells are the same as when I had my daughter. It's a warmth inside my soul that I could never describe, I only hope every mom also experiences it :) Okay, onto why your here... the hospital session.

{B} Maternity
Our latest trip back to Erie I had a session with one of my cousin's
dearest friends. The weather almost didn't corporate with us, but thank
heavens the rain missed us! :) It actually turned out to be beautiful
weather wise, it was chilly- but she was pregnant, and if I remember
correctly (AND I DO!) your always hot when your pregnant!
